Margaret Organ is the Waterford County Arts Officer with Waterford City and County Council. Based in Dungarvan, her areas of responsibility include Festivals and Events, Rural Arts, Arts in Education, Community Arts, Public Art, Arts in Health, and several other artforms.
She is responsible for the Old Market House Arts Centre in Dungarvan, and is also the curator of the annual Waterford Writers’ Weekend where she also coordinates the Waterford Poetry Prize. This competition is open to all writers currently living on the island of Ireland. This prize has emerged from the influence of the late Waterford writer Seán Dunne, whose poetry continues to inspire.
Margaret has a degree in communications and has previously worked in media, and more recently she has graduated from MTU, Crawford College of Art and Design, with a degree in Creativity and Change.
