Clodagh Beresford Dunne

Clodagh Beresford Dunne was born in Dublin and raised in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. She was awarded the Emerging Writer Award, Agility Award, and a Travel and Training Award by the Arts Council of Ireland, and her poem Seven Sugar Cubes was voted Irish Poem of the Year at the 2017 Irish Book Awards.

Her poems have been published locally in publications such as The Irish Times and Poetry Ireland Review, and internationally in Southword Poetry, The London Magazine, Salzburg Poetry Review, and Cordite. In 2019, at the request of Edna O’Brien DBE, Clodagh received the Clarissa Luard Emerging Writer Award by the Arts Council of England.

Clodagh earned degrees in English and Law from the University of Galway and practiced as a solicitor in Dublin. She was awarded the LAMDA Gold Medal as a speaker and debater, and was a finalist in the Irish Times Debating Competition, whilst also having represented Ireland on two occasions at The World Universities Debating Championships.
